About us

Welcome to Andy’s Chainsaw Training, a family run business based in Norfolk providing industry recognised training courses for ground and aerial based chainsaw use.
Whether you only use a chainsaw occasionally, or you work with them on a daily basis as part of your job, our range of training and qualifications reflects the latest industry requirements and legislation.
Lantra courses are fully recognised by industry, including the Forestry Commission and Forestry Industry Safety Accord (FISA) and hold the same weight as City and Guilds alternatives.
The courses are run by Andy Campbell, a Lantra registered instructor and City and Guilds approved assessor who has worked as a chainsaw operator and climber in both commercial forestry and tree surgery for many years. Although now his work is mostly running training courses and providing woodland management he still undertakes contractual work to maintain his skills and keep in touch with the industry. When not working he may be found training for and competing in national and European chainsaw competitions. He is currently ranked 4th in the UK and holds 3rd place for tree felling at the European Logging Championships 2013.
Andy’s wife, Michelle, takes care of all the administration. She has a good knowledge of the industry and is always on hand for a friendly chat to offer advice on course suitability and answer any queries you may have. She is also the secretary for the UK Loggers, our national precision chainsaw championships.
